I'm wondering how I would go about installing the GIT version of XBMC from the GitHub website. If I go to "Downloads" and click "download as zip" can I install it from within XBMC as I do with add-ons by using "install from zip file"? Would this version of XBMC be the Eden Beta1 as it currently stands? Thanks in advance.

Nope. You need to read the readme.ios, compile the source and use the deb thus created to install

The GitHub website contains the source code for xbmc, you need to build/compile xbmc from source code to get a working xbmc.
