We have been needing this for a while. This is good info for the wiki too.
Thanks!

I have 5 Harmony Remotes (880s & 890s) that I would love to replace with a touchscreen tablet. The review on youtube suggests that the product is not ready for primetime yet, but I would love to know some of the capabilities. FYI.. Also I use the iRule app on my iPAD to control all my devices in my Home Theater room. The iRule app communicates over the wi-fi to my Global Cache gc-100-06 device that is connected to my local network. The Global Cache device allows IR and RS232 (Serial communication) over your local network. The IR emitters and serial connections from the Global Cache device is connected to all my home theater devices. They even have a way to control the XBMC application running on your PC from iRule. I would suggest that you read the iRule forum on avsforum.com (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1351981). The iRule application is great.....

Eskro, (or anybody else for that matter)
I didn't see whether or not this was clearly mentioned: Which of these remote suggestions allows for power on/off (the way a set top box would)? Thanks. |

($32.00) i own a couple of those keyboards and they work great but i have since switched to MCE remotes and recievers as some less technical family members could not navigate xbmc with them properly and were constantly calling me to put a tv episode or movie on for them |
