I followed the Eden Beta section with apt-get update run twice but although it appeared to do something it did not upgrade. Do I first have to follow the installing for Cydia bit, I dont think I have Cydia (is that a prerequisite?)

I have two ATV2s at home, and on both I had to run apt-get update twice. But on one apt-get upgrade worked correctly, on the other I had to do apt-get dist-upgrade to work.
You will now if it worked when you start XBMC, since the splash screen has changed and says something to the effect of Eden version 11 Beta 1. |

I try that and get the following error:
"E: The package cydia needs to be reinstalled, but I can't find an archive for it." Do I need to install Cydia, if so how do I do that? Thanks |

Ignore this- I assumed ATV2. Sorry.
If you do mean ATV2, use the xbmcup.sh method. ![]() Maraschino - Web based HTPC Organiser. Keep track of all your web based programs all in one place. Home Page - Repo - Bug Tracker - Support Forum.

Maybe can you capture the entire text from your Putty session and provide this info to us, that would possibly help.

This is odd, it seems people are getting Eden Beta to work on ATV2 but i'm not. I've done the apt-get update followed by apt-get upgrade.
I've also followed l2ol33rt suggestion of apt-get update followed by apt-get dist-upgrade. I've tried updating through NitoTV. All with no luck. Any other ideas by chance? |
