I am trying ti SSH install( from windows machine) to my atv2 using Winscp.
It goes so far then I get a popup that says " host is not comunicating for more than 15 seconds. Still waiting
With an abort button
I let it sit for like 15 min and still no go
Any ideas

You don't technically need Winscp to install xbmc so what are you trying to do with Winscp exactly?

Winscp just copies files, you'll still need to SSH into the computer to do the actual install. Install instructions below

Also how is the computer and the ATV connected to the network (wired/wireless etc).

I was using winscp to SSH into the appletv
I tried using putty before using instructions from here
I found out what the problem was with putty
Putty wouldn't let me into the appletv with alpine as password
Turns out the instuctions state"SSH into your appletv. And use apline as password" then gave what to type in " SSH root@youripaddress"

The only way it would work is to type " SSH root" then enter then it will accept alpine as password
after doing this everything worked great
