"i" Movie Info Scraper Search from an addon

I am working on an add-on that shows movie files that are missing from your library:

In the list of missing files I want to use the same functionality the video file browser has where you hit 'i" and if the file does not have any movie library info associated with it it does a scraper scan FindMovie search.

Can an add-on call the scraper search for a file?
