I have updated my AppleTv 1 to Eden because I was previously using Boxee but after I installed OS X Lion the SMB Shares no longer worked.

I'm now using AFP as I believe that was the only alternative.

All was fine but after watching movies for about 20-30mins it would freeze then crash and return to the main ATV menu with the exit error code of 11.

Any ideas?

Thanks

P.S Liking XBMC more than Boxee!

Welcome to the forums.

The standard way of diagnosing problems is to give a debug log:
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=47124
Post it on pastebin.com then put a link in your thread.

(the sticky at the top of this forum)

This allows people to help much quicker and accurately.

WARNING: The debug log will show passwords for SMB shares - be sure to delete it from the log before you put it online!

Happy XBMC-ing!

The file is 8mb and it wont paste into pastebin. Is it AFP? Should I use WebDav instead? I see AFP is a bit of a liability in XBMC at the moment

restart xbmc with debug enabled, then reproduce the problem and paste it to pastebin.com

its about the only way we can help

Turned debugging on and see the info on screen and all is ok at the moment. Weird. Will plough on until I can get a log.

XBMC.log here

Debugging was on.

Streaming from external hard drive attached to iMac running OSX Lion using AFP to Apple TV 1st Gen running XBMC Eden beta.

Looks like AFP issue.

This is the header from the CrashReporter.log for the last entry:
