Hi,
i'm wondering why nobody uses the AMD Fusion Plattform.
My new Build consists of:
- AsRock E350M1/USB3 Mainboard
- MS-Tech CI-70 Case
I'm using the newest devel Build of OpenElec. So far everythings run out of the Box.
The Mainboard is really quite. It has a nice fan control onboard (40mm fan spins with 1500rpm all the time).
I think the power consumption has to be very low (i dont have a kill-a-watt).
I set all voltages to the lowest value in uefi and deactivated nearly everything.
A nive little feature is the cir header on the mainboard. You can purchase a cir remote to power on the pc from s5.
The Case has a built in 12V power supply with a 60W external power brick.
Yesterday i tried to play my heaviest 1080p h264 file while jumping thru the menus and got nearly no dropped frames.
While in playback the cpu load is about 10% by 267 Mhz (C6 State).
HMDI Audio Out works too.
Let me know if you also use the fusion plattform.

I bought a Zotac E350 fusion mini-itx board but haven't received it yet, but I'll let you know how I find it once I install.

I run an E350 with Windows 7 64bit, MCE with Ceton InfiniTV for comcast cable, TMT5 for BluRay and XBMC for everything else. I have no issues with any part of the TV, can record 4 shows at once all HD streaming to the green 2Tb 2nd drive (primary is an SSD) whilst watching a recorded show as well.
Have no issues with performance for BluRay or xbmc with multiple file types and high bitrate x264s streaming from my WHS. The only performance issues is the xbmc interface, which generally relies on CPU power (which the E350 is sorely lacking). I'm very happy with how it turned out considering how cheap an E350 board is.

I'm an openelec user. I have a couple ION systems and they are quite capable for my needs. My next build though will most likely be something like yours.
