Hi, I fiddled (carelessly deleted) a couple of db files thinking i could just restore from a time machine backup if anything went wrong. Well, I now have a 'moviedb is broken in repository error' and tried to restore my whole system from backup to fix this. It didn't resolve this issue.

My question is, all atv2 and thus xmbc files are stored locally (i believe?) on my macbook, so why didn't a complete restore from backup fix this?

That's impossible for us to answer without knowing exactly what happened.

All XBMC data is stored in your profile directory (see http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Profile_Directory) so if you have a database error now this directory has not been restored to it's "pre-crash" state.

A Mac Time Machine backup will not backup files from an ATV2. Which files did you delete?
