Hello there..

This is my first post, so dont shoot me if i post this wrong.
I have a few computers around the house, and i think moust of these, even if they are old, they could serve as mp3 players, and web browsing platforms.
A few should be able to play films too.

My first problem: ive been using microsoft since the beginning, when writing my own autoexec.bat and command.com files.... so im really new to linux.
Since i dont play games anymore, i might as well jump to linux all the way, or i might perhaps save a windows partition on one computer.

Ive run ubuntu on a few computers last year or so, and they work just fine out of the box, so i havent had any need to learn software, or commands yet... But i guess my idea requires me to learn some... but id prefer it to be fairly easy.

the hardware ive got is:

1 asus digimatrix old computer with celeron 2.4ghz.
2 x 3ghz celeron computers
1 2.2 ghz intel dualcore
1 2.4 ghz intel dualcore
1 3.6 ghz amd quad core.
1 asus EEE laptop, with slow cpu
1 regular laptop.
samsung galaxy tab and perhaps a few new samsung phones.

here is where i need some help.
What distros should i run with these computers?

Guess i can use the tab/phones as remote, but can i "target" a single computer in the network and adjust song and volume? Did have a few squeesebox'es before and there i could target either box and adjust anything i wanted.

Kinda get the idea this is the right software for my media link/network.

All help, inputs, or ideas is helpful...
Thanx in advance.
DBD.
