or are all the addons down ive tried searching via the addons menu and nothing appears and ive tried to browse the xbmc.org addon repository and still blank please help

I've seen a few cases where the add-ons database has become corrupt. In that case it can be fixed simply by deleting the add-ons database. Find your userdata folder (http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=Userdata) and in the Database folder delete AddonsXX.db where XX will be some number, or blank, depending on which version of XBMC you're using.
