I've configured the tuner settings to use the IP my card is which is 192.168.200.2 but it cant detect the card
I've allowed it through my firewall and I've turned off the firewall and it still doesn't detect it
Any advice?

Try 192.168.200.1, I'm pretty sure that will fix it.

Thank you, that worked.

Question has anyone been able to get this working with a roku?

I am very excited about this project

I'm having the same problem. How did you get it 'somewhat working'. Roku is my goal too.

Hi, long time follower of this thread, first time poster. Thank you mcheng89 for all your hard work on this project!

Two things:

1. I'm trying out v0.6.5 and I notice my EPGUpdater batch seems to throw an error when it runs. Could it be the two forward-slashes should be back-slashes in the path? See log files below:

[2.16.2014.4:00:00]: EPGUpdater: Running EPGUpdater.bat script

[2.16.2014.4:00:00]: EPGUpdater: Completed update of guide data

2. I've been trying tvserver for about 6 months now off and on and I just can't seem to get VLC to cooperate. When I start a stream I get an error. See log below:

[2.16.2014.10:50:39]: Stream: Received play request - group=0, channel=4

[2.16.2014.10:52:03]: Tuner[192.168.200.1][1]: Failed to start video stream

My system is a Win 7 Pro with a Ceton card and I'm currently trying v0.6.5 with VLC 2.1.2 64bit. I've tried just about everything I can think of such as: reinstall VLC, clear its preferences, try different versions of VLC such as versions 1.1.9, 2.0.1, 2.0.8, 2.1.0, and 2.1.2, and both 32 and 64 bit versions. I've verified the path to my VLC in the settings.conf is correct. I've even tried some tips found in this thread such as: make sure its not a firewall issue, run tv.exe as an administrator. Nothing has worked. Does anyone have this problem as well or have any guidance for what I can try next?

Thanks so much!

Yes, slashes should be consistent (and back-slashes for Windows).

Only time I ever had this was with firewall issues which you say you've eliminated - presumably you've turned off all firewalls (Windows Firewall and any third party firewalls) completely? What was the setup like when you were trying to watch the stream that generated the error above? Were you viewing from the server computer or a remote computer? On the local network or a different network? Viewing from web, VLC, or XBMC?

Hello I was wondering if anyone could help me with cetontv. I got everything working great. I got my own domain name and I always have to enter the port number. Like http://www.mydomain.com:8888/m/index.html. Is there a way to type in the domain name with out the port? Thanks

You can do either with your router by selecting a source port of 80 and destination port of 8888 or use a web hop on your domain service if they have it.

The problem seems to be that the pi cannot stop the stream before trying to initiate the stream to be switched to. I changed the Overlay.py file in the resources/lib folder.

After the two self.Player.stop() statements in that file, ADD time.sleep(5) after it. Like below.
Code:
self.Player.stop()
time.sleep(5)

This basically gives the pi time to close the current stream before the next stream starts. Works like a charm for me!

Thanks so much mcheng89 for this BTW! Amazing piece of work here, it just keeps getting better.

I have the same issue and adding the two statements did not fix my problem. Which version of XBMC are you running, Frodo or Gotham?

So I found this thread when trying to setup a slingbox type config.

Everything seems to be working find but I did have an issue with the HTTP HDHomerun shutting down the stream after about 30secs. After I switched to just the HDHomeRun device type it works rather well.

Is there any plans to update?

Is a very lightweight setup to get your tv channels to your xbmc box.

I registered just to thank you for all your work. This is a heck of an application, I've been using it all the time since you released. Anxiously awaiting the DLNA features to come. Sounds wicked! I keep checking back hoping you return. Rofl

I also registered just to say thank you for this. It is quite amazing! Please continue if you can...heck I'm even willing to donate for you to make this better.

If you do decide to leave this project, could you open source the code? I'm not a programmer, but it looks as though just the PVR portion for xbmc has been open sourced and not the tv.exe portion. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'd love to tinker with this myself!

I looked at the open source code, I couldn't find where the call to transcode was coming from in the PVR code, so thats why I'm assuming that portion was not open sourced. I did find the bitrate and resolution call. I'd like to change the audio codec to 64kb to see if I can get 1080 with a lower quality audio. Even with an I7-4771 processor, ssd, and 8gb of ram; my computer struggles when running wmc and 2 1080 streams. The audio starts to become choppy, so this is my reasoning for lowering the quality. Plus with multiple threads, I'd love to multithread the vlc transcode.

Again, thank you, thank you, thank you!

This is AMAZING!

I was actually trying to get live tv in xbmc, but then noticed the plex plugin, and WOW.
I had a similar setup using orb, but ever since digital cable, orb has been worthless.

So now, thanks to all of you, I have cable on my phone.

The only problem I am having is...

I modified the channel line up csv, to get rid of the 400 channels I don't have.

Worked perfectly for my phone, but for some reason when I go to plex via web browser on a desktop, I am only seeing like 3 channels listed.

I don't have a great understanding on how all of this is working, so I hit a wall.

Does anyone know how I can get the modified channel list to work properly through both the plex android app, and the plex web browser app?

Thanks

I would just like to thank you for all your hard work. I have been following this thread since it was just 4 pages. I wanted to give everyone some information about running this on linux.

My setup is this: I go overseas every 4 months and where I go, only has 4 channels in english. This was my original reason for setting this up. Recently I wanted to setup a mythtv backend to handle some TV at my house as well, but didnt want to lose my "overseas" tv.

Currently I am running Ubuntu 14.04 and wine. I now have this program updating the EPG, and serving TV over the internet on linux utilizing wine. Setup was simple. I have the tvserver folder in my users "home folder" and running tv.exe via wine. I was surprised to find out it had no issues running the epgupdate.bat automatically. The only thing that needed to be configured, is I downloaded the windows version of VLC and installed the .exe via wine. When installing take note of the location it is being installed to, and that is the location that will need to be entered in the web config interface. eg: C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLan\vlc\vlc.exe

I cannot say whether the xbmc addons will work as advertised running in this fashion, but I would assume it would work since everything else seems to be in order.
