What about the large hole for the standard PSU that's left over? Can it just be left, or should it be blanked off?

u can use an old non-working PSU, dismantle it
and cut on its backplate to cover the big hole,
but u still need to drill a hole in it.

Thanks for this - I was in Fry's today and saw they had a "150W picoPSU" which came with the power-brick included. There was no mention at all on the box of the wattage of the power-brick and when I took a peek inside it was actually rated for 80W (http://www.frys.com/product/5974914)!

Why is it advertised as a 150W PSU when the brick will only supply 80W?

so your correct, a picoPSU-160-XT + 192W Adapter Power Kit
is considered a 160W PSU overall

If you are trying to say they are the same... They definitely are not, there can be huge differences.

I'm not an expert but I play one at work.

He is saying they are different and the power brick will determine peak power for the PSU part.

120W: PicoPSU-160-XT + 120W Brick + P4 extension + 2.1mm to 2.5mm adapter = $77

Oh, boy. It seems there's no end to how much you can mod. So now I see this post and I like the "completely silent" idea Nod

After following the links and looking for alternatives trying to put all the pieces together in my head, why the 2.1mm to 2.5mm adapter? From what I can see, the 2.5mm is on both ends, no need for adapter. What am I missing? Confused
Thanks!

EDIT: sorry, I was looking at another brick that came with 2.5mm The one up here is 2.1. My bad

You can get custom-made mounting plates here: http://outsidethestb.blogspot.com/

They fill in where the PSU would have been mounted in the case. The ATX ones can even come with an 80mm fan, say if the PSU fan would have been the only one in the case. There's an option for the single hole or the 3-hole like in your picture above. There's SFX size too.

I am using a couple myself -- one in an Apex MI-008 and another in a Lian-Li PC-Q07. Dig down through all the stuff and there's some pics of them.
