cleaner450 Wrote:Hunter2... how did you label your movies so the thumb shows it as a 3d movie.. Mine have been not finding the images for the thumb with the 3d in the title

Also what Skin are you using... it looks really nice!

Thanks for the help

ohh and my 3D movies work fine in XBMC
Here is the skin- Aeon Nox .
>Alienware X51- do it all HTPC
>Simplify XBMC configurations
>HOW-TO Bitstreaming using XBMC
I refused to watch movie without bitstreaming HD audio!

With this type of naming, it'll ensure that only 3D movie playback using external player and other formats still playback using XBMC!

Thanks for the reply..

So now I am a bit confused on 3d playback.. I have 3d movies that I have played through xbmc that were sbs and I just had my tv set them together to make it 3d. Now it seemed to work fine but are you say you should play them through TMT5. So do you launch that program through xbmc?

sorry I just got xbmc up like 2 days ago and am still learning. one other thing if you may know this.. its driving me crazy..

I loaded about 60 snes roms and wanted to find out the best / fastest way to get the thumbnails attached. Is there a way to search for all at once like you can with your movie collection.

I hope I dont have to search for each roms thumb

I took 3 half sbs 3d files to a friends house....he set his samsung tv to sbs and the 3 files played just fine through xbmc live on a revo 1600

not arguing on if xbmc is technically supporting it or not....it just works
WE ALL WE GOT

Just put it this way- if you like what you saw with SBS, you don't have to use TMT5.

As far as TMT5, the 3D looked very similar to the 3D on the standalone blu-ray player to me. If you want to try it, they have the free trial version. If you like how it looks, you can use it as XBMC external player and you still can enjoy XBMC front-end (mainly library).

Were you launching the .ssif file directly? Was it an .iso? Or are you doing it some other way? I wanted to try it the way you are and see what happens as my TV will be more than happy to put the SBS together if I can get it over there...
The XBMC team, plug-in devs, skinners, etc. do this for us for FREE in their spare time because they want to. Think about that for a second before you start bitching...

I simply put "3DBD" into the filename.
Avatar (2009) 3DBD.mkv
I'm using Aeon MQ3.

3D-SBS / FULL 3D / STEREOSCOPIC 3D /

o.O

It's simple really.

3D SBS (Side by Side) Looks like this:

I'm guessing Full 3D just means there's no black bars at the top or bottom.

Stereoscopic 3D is just to distinguish from Anaglyph 3D (Cyan/Red)

so after reading some more, i think i'll sum it up this way...

HDMI 1.3 handles HALF Side-by-Side 3D (960x1080p on both frames)
Image

HDMI 1.4a handles FULL Side-by-Side 3D + FULL Top/Bottom 3D (1920x1080p on both frames)

End of story.
