AMD A6-3500 Temps
#1
After purchasing and building my first HTPC a few weeks ago, the sound the stock cooler produces has now pushed me over the edge to make improvements to my HTPC.

So in an effort to make it more quiet I've gone out and purchased

- A Wesena Mini ITX6 Case
- Scythe Shuriken Low Profile Cooler Rev B
- A Noise Dampening Kit
- Good CPU thermal paste
- Scythe 100mm Kaze Jyu Slim 1000RPM Fan ( to replace the coolers pvm fan )

So hopefully by using the thermal paste and the new cooler the temps will drop so that i can install these low rpm fans without having to worry about temps too much.

What would be a safe maximum for the A6-3500 degree wise while only running windows 7 and watching 1080p movies ?

I'm very surprise by your post !

I have also a A6-3500 CPU with stock cooler and honestly the sound is unnoticeable !

I would say that it may be safe to be under 70°C for a CPU.

C1S12OB, have u tried to set your stock cooler CPU fan to ~50% ??
cuz if u kept it as is, it'll sound like a jet engine.

I've set the stock cooler at 10% with speedfan. There is some noise, but barely noticeable. Case fan is a Noctua 80mm, spinning at ~1300RPM

My temps under these settings is around 39-40C, after 2h of 1080p playback.

Maximum temp for this CPU seems to be 70C. I read it somewhere, can't remember exactly where though.
