One click to play a music playlist
#1
Hey,
So often I'm walking past the TV room and decide I want my favourite playlist to start playing on random. Currently I have to turn the tv on (wait for it to warm up), navigate back to the favourites menu, select my playlist then select play.

What I would love is to be able to leave the TV turned off and just select one button on the keyboard or remote to start playing a select playlist. Is this possible?

Thanks

Yes. You can request a playlist to play using a builtin function - see the builtin functions in the wiki.

You need to create a custom key mapping file. See http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Mod...yboard.xml for details.

In the mapping file you need to map the key of your choice to the PlayMedia() function. See http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=List_of_Built_In_Functions for the arguments this function accepts. However I'm not sure if this function allows you to specify a random playback.
