Hi guys
Going to replace original apple tv with and sad drive so hopeful it runs cooler I have seen this one is it any good 16gb Kingspec 2.5 para/ide sad is this any good or if there a better drive that the community would recommend

A much cheaper option would be to use Crystalbuntu and running it off of a USB drive. I hear the drives will burn out from time to time, but even then it will probably be less expensive.
Other than that, I have no idea.

I'm using a Compact Flash to IDE adapter and I can tell you that the ATV is still burning hot, so do not blame the harddrive alone.
There does not seem to be much to gain when using CF over USB, so I would probably live with the USB stick like Ned suggests, if I was buyingtoday

Are you guys using Broadcom Crystal HD cards? Even with SD, it will take the video decoding load off of the CPU, allowing the ATV to run much cooler.

Yes I am, and it's still very hot to the touch
