Changing supported TV modes manually
#1
My parents TV supports 60Hz, 50Hz as well as 24p. Kodi detects this and plays all files fine when Adjust Refresh Rate is enabled. The 24p support on the TV is pretty bad or not working as it should (not a Kodi problem and not fixable). I could disable the refresh rate change but they watch TV as well with Kodi and that needs 50Hz enabled since they are in Europe. So I need 60Hz for the 3:2 (which is fine for them) and 50Hz for TV stuff. Is there a way to remove the other modes manually? Best way would be to make the changes and save them as edid.dat. Is this possible?

Yes, you can dump the edid. Edit it with an edid editor and then use the edid file instead of the real edid. See:
http://kodi.wiki/view/Raspberry_Pi_FAQ#T...d_on_first
for using a file based edid. How to edit the edid is something you'll have to search around for.

But there is a simpler option. Look for the <adjustrefreshrate>/<override> settings here: http://kodi.wiki/view/advancedsettings.xml
