I'm trying to resolve a problem, and need to try to add additional modes to the Xorg.config file. But it is write protected so I cannot edit it using WinSCP or Putty.

Is there any way I can overwrite it? Or do I need to make a copy, edit that, then put the copy elsewhere in the directory list?

ssh in, and edit it there with sudo.

sudo nano xorg.conf did the trick. Just got to test it now.
