XBMC showing wrong folder/fanart for movie
#1
Hello,

This is an odd problem and I can't seem to figure this out.

I have 2 xbmc 10.1 boxes. Both talking back to a central MySQL server.

I use Ember Media Manager to scrape movies and shows for art and nfo.

The oddness I have is some movies are showing the wrong artwork.

smb://multimedia/movies/movie1 shows artwork for movie15

movie15 is fine.

and some movies that have folder.jpg|tbn and fanart.jpg|tbn, etc. doesn't show up at all. I'm in File Mode.

I've tried clean library, update library, etc but can't get it to show the files in the movie's directory correctly like it does for all the others.

I've verified that the jpgs in the folder are indeed for the right movie. And even blew it all away and had EMM re-scrape it.

Can someone please point me in the right direction on getting this fixed?

Thanks

Just speculation here: The fanart images are just not the correct fanart but from the correct movie? It's possible that the images in the library do not conform to the images in the folder, it got them from the scrape.. as XBMC didn't recognize the image format or name as part of the local data. Exprting to single file... will deposit the proper .tbn and fanart in their respective folders for you to check.

If the images are totally off base and not from the same movie, then something is amiss (lib scramble) and you might have to re-scrape.

I'm not sure I follow you. The move1 directory has move1 art in the directory that EMM put there. But xbmc is showing art from a totally different movie when I highlight that directory in file list mode.

All of the other movies are working fine. I've re-scrapped with xbmc, but no joy. I've also tried to update and clean library, with no success.

Have you manually tried to replace the fanart... and is the path correct? If all is good... then certainly some pointer is pointing to the wrong place. Sounds like confusion in one of database.

Yes... so I just rebooted the computer. Now the main xbmc box in the living room has the correct folder.jpg showing up, but the background image is still for the wrong movie. But the files in the directory show correctly individually.

The other xbmc box shows both folder and background wrong.

I'm not sharing the thumbnail directory between machines with the <pathsubstitution> thing. But I would not think that is necessary as each movie directory has all the artwork inside the directory.

I would say twin up the database.. you might try to re-direct the path from one thumbnail directory to the other. I have only one front end and one database... so I escape these foibles.

What does twin up the database mean? Sorry that I don't understand.

I like the 1 db and being able to keep the media "sync'ed" so that 1 box knows where I left off from the other when watching somtehing.

Well you've got two databases.. considering you have two front ends each with their own library, and therein lies the issue. You'll have to either come up with a solution that ensures both libraries are kept up-to-date with each other... or some sort of copy that respects the paths. look over this thread... seems to echo some of your issues, http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=121658 Pathsubstitution might allow you to use one thumbnail folder, but I'm not sure about that. This wiki seems to be what you're looking for.

I'm already using MySQL already to sync the libraries, been doing that since I set the 2 boxes up. And not using path sub for the thumbs. Which I'm not sure why I would need since all the artwork for all media is stored in each directory for each movie/show.

Thanks. This is the link I used to get MySQL working. Smile

Is there a way to rebuild the thumbnail database?

Although I'm not sure that is where it's getting teh wrong image from. I'm wondering if I need to blow away my MySQL db and start over. But man.. really don't want to do that.
