I have been searching everywhere. I am having bad HD playback because my cpu is getting pegged. I have installed VAAPI but can't figure out if where to turn it on in XBMC.
My understanding is that is was included in beta 1. Am I wrong? Do I need to reinstall with the vaapi enabled?

Try the XvBA branch, works way nicer than VA-API.

I saw that how to among others. My issue is I already have the catalyst drivers, xbmc, and I just realized xvba installed. Do I need to uninstall them all and start from scratch?

just remove the xbmc ppa where you got beta 1 from, then start at Step 3.
Be sure to turn on v-sync in the driver though.

Where do I turn on Vsync? I don't see it in Catalyst. Also is okay that I have Vaapi installed?
