Tried one more thing, that is the Lord Of The Rings Extended Edition with DTS-ES

Unfortunately, it totally screws up my Onkyo 609 receiver. Lots of clicking and switching. Seems
like it can't lock on to the right format and keeps switching modes.

BTW, the latest XBMC with the Audio Engine (the 20120405 build) works flawlessly.

Hi, can you show me which build exactly you mean? I couldn't find it somehow.
I'm using the Onkyo 609 too and I would love to have HD audio working correctly.
Thank you.

Thank you.

If you go here:

https://github.com/DDDamian/xbmc/downloads

you'll find all recent XBMC builds implementing audio bitstreaming.

With my setup so far:

- DanielaE's patch works ok, except for DTS-ES (lots of stuttering, receiver which can't lock on to the right format)
- The AudioEngine stuff works ok for DTS-ES, but some other movies with DTS don't work ok (lots of stuttering, audio and video)

Is it me or does it look like all the people having problems are using an Onkyo receiver?

My Onkyo HT-RC270 work fine.....and I don't think that AVR is the issue.

It could be related to patches, because they said it works fine with AE. Unfotunately, I don't have Lord of the Rings Extended Edition with DTS-ES to try it on my HTPC.....

>Alienware X51- do it all HTPC
>Simplify XBMC configurations
>HOW-TO Bitstreaming using XBMC
I refused to watch movie without bitstreaming HD audio!

I use two Onkyo's,

TX-NR807 and a 509.

Upload a clip for LOTR with DTS-ES and we can try it outSmile

If nobody does it sooner, I will upload a clip of LOTR and Star Wars both with DTS-ES tonight.

Somewhere a few pages back you'll find a short clip of Star Wars, but this results in no sound on my TX-NR609. I have a MKV BD rip, which results in stuttering (modes changes on the receiver, brief few secs of audio and video which is skipping like hell).

As I mentioned before, both movies play fine on AE (AudioEngine), but I've other problems with AE. Lots of movies with DTS (plain DTS) result in similar effects, while the HD formats and DTS-ES play ok.
