[ARCHIVED - WON'T UPDATE] XSqueeze - Squeezebox player for XBMC
Ok, this is a changed repo: https://github.com/bossanova808/reposito...-0.1.9.zip

Works here. Give that a go and let me know how you get on.

(My advice is that all xsqueeze users manually download that and use 'install from zip file' )

I updated the wiki as I've tested it on a few machines now, new repo is working fine.

There's an ongoing thread about the issue with github here:http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=189722 - definitely not my fault!!

Hi bossanova808

I'm having issues with Openelec Gotham Beta 2
Currently I have an issue with an error saying "could not connect to player". Done a bit of googling and is it down to a codec in OE?

Getting a log now

Thanks

Heres the log file. Sad

there's no 'codecs' involved here Smile - you may mean that alsa is mssing on the version of OE for Pi

You need to post the entire debug log please. All sorts of useful information cut off that one....e.g. the what platform you are on...even the actual xsqueeze bit is cut off Sad

I have a dell zino hd with an ati 4200 radian card. Everything works but audio. Im running openelec frodo 12. If i exit xzqueeze my audio returns. Im was wondering if i have to edit my edid but cant find a guide for an ati card. I will post a debug log when i get home. For now im just wondering if anyone one else has a prob with ati cards doin this.

Most likely you will need to manually specify an output for squeezelite/slave ... so ssh in and work out how to run it from command line correctly, then copy the switches into xsqueeze settings.

Code:
19:18:13 T:139674445293312    INFO: CAESinkALSA - ALSA: /home/stephan/projects/openelec-4.0/build.OpenELEC-Generic.x86_64-3.95.2/alsa-lib-1.0.27.2/src/pcm/pcm_dmix.c:1022:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave
19:18:13 T:139674445293312    INFO: CAESinkALSA - Unable to open device "default" for playback

...that's a guess based on the above.

Thanks. Someone on the OE forum has pointed me to a wiki which should solve the issue
Thanks for the reply

Still having the same issues that the players cant be found:

I added the config file by following the wiki (http://wiki.openelec.tv/index.php/Config..._menusound) and double checked it had created ok, which it had, and still no luck getting the squeeze box to work

Is there any ideas?

Thanks
N

@NickW not to be a dick, but I will not look at log snippets. They are against forum rules, too.

Full debug log or nothing, please

Ok see you have one above, sorry.

Can you start by telling me what you're actually trying to do - are you wanting playback from xsqueeze, or controlling of an existing squeezebox?

If the latter - do you want audio out of hdmi, or another output? And have you tried squeezelite, the preferred player?

If you look around line 526 in your log there begins a whole buttload of alsa errors, so I am not sure you have your asound.conf right really, but I don't know much about that - in the old days OE made that for you so it was easier.
