OSD and Context menu problem
#1
Hi!
I have a strange problem with one of my ATV2's. Most of the time it isnt possible to get OSD to work when watching a movie, it just pauses the movie when pressing the middle button for a long time. When trying to get the Context menu it only goes back to previous menu like pressing it quickley.

Sometimes i does work but not all the time:-(

ATV2, 4.4.4 running eden 2

Have tried to reinstall several times and tried ither remotes, same result.

Any ideas what to do. My wife isnt happy about this:-)

Happy wife, happy life!

The osd should be a short press on the middle button while watching video. Have you changed the mappings?

Sounds like a dying battery in the remote.

Thats not right. Its a long press per default imho:

from default kaymap:

Code:
<!-- hold center-->      <button id="7">...
<button id="7">OSD</button>

Well, the strange thing is that the remote works fine on my other ATV2's and other remotes i have to the other ATV2's doesnt work with this particular unit.

The one that doesnt work is the newest one and was jailbroken last. Can there be a jailbreak problem? I think this unit is a bit slower than the others when booting or shuting down. It was jailbroken with a later verson of Seasonpass than the others.

As i said it is working sometimes, if i hold "menu" 10 times, i will get OSD maybe one time. otherwise it just paus the video, same for context menu.

Any other logs that i shall take other from xbmc.log that might show the root cause?

Ok, this is solved nowLaugh

Strange solution but i had my ATV2 just beside the TV and if i moved the ATV2 away a bit from the TV everything works as expected.

Just like the TV disturbs the IR signal in some way, can someone explain that?

Well well, it works and it was an easy fix. Smile
