This is doing my head in!
If i set my audio preferences in ubuntu to "analog stereo duplex" & Xbmc output & passthrough "iec958 [alsa] xbmc works as it should, but obviously i get no sound out of my other apps.
When i change my audio preferences to " digital stereo output + analog stereo input" i get sound out of my apps & in Xbmc "failed to initialize audio device" but i do get menu sounds.
I've set output & passthrough to "iec958 [alsa]" & hw:0,1 & plughw:0,1 but i just keep getting the audio device error.
How do i get Xbmc & other apps to use digital out at the same time, Cos I'd like to use advanced launcher for emus.
Debug gives me this error:
"ERROR: Initialize - failed to open custom device hw:0,1,AES0=0x6,AES1=0x82,AES2=0x0,AES3=0x2 (error:No such file or directory), retry with default hw:0,1"
"ERROR: Initialize - pcm_open_lconf, alsa error: -16 - Device or resource busy"
