The Eden beta3 LiveCD install to hard drive installer does not not show anything for the partition table of the HDD in my system. Strangely, when I drop to console I can see that the existing filesystem on the disk has been detected and auto-mounted under /media.

Has anyone experienced this issue with the installer application?

Alright, I've got it figured out:

This drive had been part of a RAID configuration a looong time ago, so this forum post was helpful in figuring out why partman had failed to detect the drive (but all other partition managers did..)

Unfortunately for me, the solution in that forum post did not work since dmraid was failing to erase the metadata.. so this page here helped me to clear the last 1MB of the disk, where raid metadata is stored.

After a reboot, the installation of XBMCbuntu Eden beta 3 works perfectly!
