[Apple TV2] Files won't play using SMB or NFS
#1
Hi,

Longtime lurker in these forums and have never had a problem with XBMC until now. I upgraded to beta 3 and can see all my shared files using either SMB or NFS(using Windows 7 for SMB and Hanewin for NFS). I click to play and the video acts like its about to load for a split-second, I get a buffering message, will get audio and video for maybe two seconds tops, and then I get dumped back out to XBMC. No crashes, it just takes me back to the menu I was in before. TV or Movies makes no difference. Have uninstalled/wiped and reinstalled to no avail. All videos are 720p in MKV format over Wireless N.

XBMC (11.0-BETA3 Git:20120207-1fef727), Platform: Darwin iOS (11.0.0 AppleTV2,1, Version 4.3 (Build 8F305)). Built on Feb 8 2012

Installed using NitoTV

NFS access looks fine from your log. FFMPEG seems to have problems with that file. There are no NFS read errors. Please double check that you have the latest version of HaneWin Server - i don't trust this software.

Also compare it to smb access if you can. There is no known NFS issue in B3. And a very big part of the issues we had before where dedicated to HaneWin :/

Ok. I uninstalled Hanewin(was using latest version), re-did SMB shares and ran ethernet to the Apple TV. Same result Sad Tried all files on Windows 7 version of XBMC and they play back fine. I don't know what else to do haha.

Here's the updated log: http://pastebin.com/1SECEtyV

Code:
418.18:03:48 T:145182720   ERROR: ffmpeg[8A75000]: [matroska,webm] Read error

Same as before - so its definitly not an issue with SMB or NFS.

Could you try the 720p example from bigbugbunny.org:

Ok here is the log using the video file you linked: http://pastebin.com/75g2FFi2

Same issues. Is it possible my installation may be screwed up? Or the jailbreak itself? I haven't attempted a new jailbreak since I bought this a year ago.
