I noticed moving through the menus it is really slow. The videos & music play fine. I don't have the CrystalHD module, the ATV1 is stock. Thanks ofr any ideas on how to fix this.

did you install via the atvusb creator or are you running crystalbuntu? The ATV as far as system specs go is rather weak, you may want to look into enabling dirty regions.
