I followed some directions on this forum for modifying the registry.

Ah, OK, presumably that was EliteGamer360's scripts.

Your easiest course is probably to grab the KeyMapEdit app from http://xbmcmce.sourceforge.net/ and use that to create a custom mapping for whatever button you want to open the context menu.
