Interface sounds stop working after watching video with DD 5.1
#1
Not sure if this has been posted before, but I'm using XBMC Eden Beta 3 and I'm having a problem with interface sounds. When I first launch XBMC, all interface sounds seem to be playing just fine. If I watch a video with stereo output and go back to the interface, the sounds still work. But when I watch a video with 5.1 sound (usually DTS) and go back to the interface, the interface sound effects no longer work. The only way to get them to start working again is to watch another DTS 5.1 video, and they magically play again. Is this happening to anybody else? Again, it's only the interface sounds - all audio in every video file I have plays perfectly fine, so it's just a minor issue.

I'm running OS X Lion on a 2011 Mac Mini connected via HDMI.

Yes that is not uncommon. I had the same issue with AAC two channels on my ATV
Seems that everything not AC3 sends the thing a bit crazy
I can't test with Macbook anymore though as with Mountain Lion XBMC crashes :-(

I experienced same troubles... I don't remember very well how I solved.. for sure the first thing is to choose the audio interface in the option (don't leave it on auto)
