Moving back to XBMC scraping from Ember

Ember just isn't working for me and I don't have time to pull the source and get it working. For the mean time I'd be happy with XBMC auto detecting episodes and working it's magic, however it doesn't detect episodes unless Ember does its magic (presumably it looks for the NFOs).

How can I force XBMC to find episodes?

EDIT: I checked the log. Some episodes downloaded, but a few I had "Asked to look up episode smb://{path} online, but we have no episode Guide. Check your tvshow.nfo and make sure the <episodeguide> tag is in place. I edited the NFO and added the tag (which is correct, tested it) but when going scan new content it doesn't find the episodes.

I know this doesn't specifically answer your question but have you checked out metabrowser? - http://themetabrowser.com/

It doesn't have all the fetaures of EMM but most of them and what it does have works. Its very stable, and the interface is easy (unlike MCM which is an abortion of an interface design). metabrowser isn't free but it is cheap and it works (for me at least).

What this <episodeguide> tag should include?

The episodeguide bug is scheduled to be fixed in v1.3.1. http://ember.purplepig.net/issues/10

To go back to xbmc scraping you'll need to remove the series from the database, clean, and then rescan it in with a corrected tvshow.nfo or no tvshow.nfo at all.
