video playback speed too fast

latest xbmc. Was working ok... now videos are playing just a little faster than they should be. Makes everyone sound like chipmunks. Is there a setting to adjust this?

Please turn on debug logging in XBMC and post a debug log on pastebin.
My guess is the soundcard is playing at the wrong samplerate.

eh, don't worry about it. I don't think it's an xbmc problem anymore. I get the same issue when I try to play in VLC. I think I'm going to try a different distro as it might be kernel related.

it was the crappy driver for the onboard sound for a Dell Optiplex gx150. AC97 drivers are a pain on linux. Switched to a usb sound card and it works like a champ.
