When a movie rip doesn't contain chapters, SkipNext and SkipPrevious dump me out of the movie into the movie list, and XBMC tells me it can't find the next item to play in the playlist. For movies that contain chapters, these functions work as ordinary chapter advance keys.

I don't use playlists, and I'd much prefer their control keys not be conflated with chapter keys. I can't find dedicated chapter advance keys. Do they exist?

Nope - I believe we have re-use of action here.

Though, I do believe that there's other re-use that you can take advantage of: Big skip forward and backward skip to chapters if they're available.
