Mine, too: brand new, fresh Eden install on a new user. Ubuntu Lucid (LTS) using the German PPA without the PVR.

I'm on the machine now, so you'll have to take my word for the internet connectivity. Smile No proxy.

I'm out of clues. In the short term I'll try to copy over the things I need from other machines, but this isn't an answer.

It's about downloading: specifically, resolving a mirror. The first one times out, then fails. But Wget gets it just fine:

brianf@harper:~$ host mirrors.xbmc.org
mirrors.xbmc.org has address 212.110.166.220
brianf@harper:~$ wget http://mirrors.xbmc.org/addons/eden/skin...-4.0.5.zip

BE AWARE: I'm working on this in another post: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...pid1063346

My future stuff will be there. If I find the solution, I'll post it.

GOOD NEWS: It's a DNS issue. (at least for me)

It was a matter of loading bin9 from the repo and looking up the host once. With a caching nameserver I can get better action than using the one AT&T pointed me to.

When this worked, everything worked.

I have a real, live, great-n-luscious Eden install on Ubuntu.

I've just installed 12.2 in Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit to see how xbmc works.

I first noticed that the artwork was not being updated and tried to install additional music addons to try and retrieve more of the artwork in my music collection. The selected addons report 'downloading 0%' and then fail to load.

I've also tried to install the XMBC Log Uploader with the same outcome.

Any ideas what is happening or how I might fix this?
I've already checked that I have a fully working internet connection on this machine.

Hello,

The downloads appear to complete then the installation fails.

Here is the complete log file.

Sorry. I should have listed all troubleshooting steps taken.

Deleted addon15.db., close XBMC, launch XBMC
