never done the .dmg install. can I just copy over and run like I would on a Mac?

Thanks for the download link. It doesn't work so I guess I can just grab the latest?
I grabbed xbmc-20120302-b097902-peripheral_skinning-i386.dmg and it worked fine, thanks for the help!

I got the file to work too, I just used sftp then mounted in /Volumes and copied it over.

The log shows that the problem I was trying to resolve has been eliminated. Can you tell me:
- HDMI, Optical, or RCA connection
- Volume level showing on screen (using +/- buttons)

I'm not in front of it at the moment but my setup is AppleTV -> HDMI -> TV -> Headphone Socket 3.5mm -> Speakers.

It should be in your Launcher menu under Downloads
