Enable debug logging from System settings, System, Debugging, and restart XBMC then wait a minute or two for all the startup tasks to finish. Now play the film that's giving the problem for a minute or two, then stop the film and close XBMC.

Open the debug log by pressing Windows-R and in the Run dialog type:

"%appdata%\xbmc\xbmc.log"

(including the quotes). Click OK and the log should open in Notepad. Copy and paste the log into http://pastebin.com/ and post the link it gives you here.

Huh If XBMC chooses 50Hz for 25fps material it's not chosing the wrong frequency.

As a clear multiple of 25, 50Hz will allow for smooth playback and a more stable image (usually it's at least doubled to 100Hz by TVs, by the way).
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first (usually it's enough to follow instructions in the second post).

the txt in dowload : Voir le Fichier : logxbmc.txt

i know As a clear multiple of 25, 50Hz will allow for smooth playback and a more stable image (usually it's at least doubled to 100Hz by TVs, by the way).

but in 25hz > no lag, the image is fluid (test with kmplayer and mediportal)
in 50hz > lags, (not "fluid" in english ?)

thanks !!

I note you're using windowed fullscreen. You could try using true fullscreen instead. Go to System settings, System, Video output and disable the setting "Use a fullscreen window rather than true fullscreen".

Try overriding the refresh rate using advanced settings -

<fpsmin>24.9</fpsmin>
<fpsmax>25.1</fpsmax>
<refreshmin>24.9</refreshmin>
<refreshmax>25.1</refreshmax>
</override>
</adjustrefreshrate>

thespecialist Wrote:I think this might be the same issue that I'm experiencing http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/12726). Try and see if my solution also works for you (please let me know)

1) Install the latest XBMC version (RC2) -> http://mirrors.xbmc.org/releases/win32/x...en_rc2.exe
2) Replace xbmc.exe in your xbmc map (usually under C:\Program Files (x86)\XBMC) with this build I compiled: http://speedy.sh/M7TPV/XBMC.rar

Thanks !

I am getting something very similar. Using Eden RC2, 25Hz material judders. For me the judder doesn't always happen. When it is juddering I can pause the playback then restart and it plays smoothly again. Debug log doesn't show anything to do with video, but does show dropped packets on audio stream.

Unfortunately I tried your fix but it didn't make a difference.

I never had any issues with Dharma.

Thanks,
Graham

Forget about that patch. The source of my problems was that somehow the deinterlace setting was changed from 'auto' to 'on', causing it to deinterlace ALL movies (even progressive ones that don't need deinterlacing), which caused framedrops. In the OSD video display menu I switched the deinterlace mode and method both to 'auto' and saved it as default for all video's and everything was fine again.

Interesting. I'm wondering if that could be my issue too. I'll have a play.

Thanks
