Hi,
I have a Dell re-badged Philips RC1974506/00 (USB2 MCE) remote connected to an openSUSE 12.3 Intel NUC box. It sort of worked straight away.
Then I worked out that the SYSCONFIG setting for which Kernel Module to use was wrong and to swap to mceusb. That improved things a lot. Now all the buttons responded rather than just a subset.
But often a key press responded as if I had help the button down.
Josu Lazkano (thanks) suggested running
echo lirc > /sys/class/rc/rc0/protocols
That removed the multi action. But leaves me almost with the reverse problem now where I _have_ to press for a long time or multiple times to get a response.
Worse, I can use the remote for a short while (say 5-10 key pressed), then the red light on the receiver stays on and no further key press gets a response for a long period of time (between 10 seconds and 5 minutes).
How have I remove this blocking?
If I exit xbmc and instead use xmode2, every key press responds perfectly and the red light never stays on. But with xbmc I have to press a button for a long time or multiple times to get xbmc to respond (when it's not blocked).
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
David.
