I am running xbmcbuntu and recently when I am starting my htpc my library wont load as normal. It seems as if my path substitutions and connection to mysql doesnt work. However, if I exit xbmc and log in again, everything works as it should. I have the exact same configuration on my android phone, my laptop running archlinux and on my raspberry pi running raspbmc and none of them suffers from these issues.

Is this some sort of race condition happening when I power on the computer or what? Can someone suggest a remedy for my issues?

well race or not.. it is just that your xbmc is started before the network interface is fully initialized.
