I used a friends' Rii RF version and loved it enough to order the BT version. I use it in my room. I bought the RF version alter on. I love them both. THe only issue I have is that I have to push the G key a little harder than the rest on my RF version.

The missing Function keys, single Shift key, lack of a scroll function, and difficulty with click & drag due to mousekey placement, are my only small gripes. The 2nd generation models have resolved all of these.

The battery life is insane, and it can still be used while charging. Plug and Play, no other drivers or software requried. I think they're great.

But seeing the crazy amount of variations, I'm nto too surprised that some are of poor quality.

yes, many variations.
thing is, UNISEN holds the patent for this 'small form factor' keyboard.
the true model number from them is --> KP-810-10A for the RF version....
see here http://www.ipazzport.com/10a.html

now if u see correctly, they have differences with the Rii Mini's...
Rii Mini tried to copy cat Unisen i believe and from what im reading on...

but the Unisen is so much more quality and better made.
there was a tube that showed differences, lemme try to relocate the vid...

Just watched the video and yep, the Rii looks like a cheap imitation - inferior.

Even though it's not the type of remote I'm going to use I can clearly tell that the iPazzPort looks better all around.

I actually have this mini keyboard (RF) for awhile. It works great. The only annoying thing is that it takes several swipes across the touchpad to move the arrows/pointer from 1 side of the screen to the other side. It is fairly responsive as long as there is LoS (line of sight) to the receiver , otherwise you might notice delay, missing letters when typing. You don't need to point to the receiver, but it has to have a bit LoS. Thus, it is best to plug the receiver into the front usb port. The main reason I chose this over the rii was that this one has F1-F12, and the rii only has F1-F6. On some mobo, you need F10 to get into certain mobo's function.

Altho, it's a great backup remote, I do not use it much. Main reason being, it is just more comfortable to use the MCE remote in XBMC or Windows MCE. When the need come to typing, I just find it is easier to type on my Dinovo Edge.

right on pyrospawn, but for my setup, i missing a keyboard for typing into web search bars.
its not much of chatting or anything. nor controlling XBMC.
its really for typing text in search bars.
i hope it does a better job then the Rii Mini's i tried and hated..
i would have loved them if they worked great, but they didnt...

i bought a wireless ARC keyboard which was recommended by Beer40onze,
but altho its works flawless, really, its flawless,
im missing the 'on couch' experience that the rii mini gaved me...
this is how im positioned when enjoying XBMC (not me on pic) Tongue

wireless ARC keyboard serves me no good in this case
and i need it to be backlit, its really crucial for me.

hope this RF model will suit my need.
which is basically basic,
i only need it to type in search box's,
but it needs to work and not miss keys while typing...

as for browsing the NET, i wont use the touchpad at all,,,
i use my GYRATION AIR MOUSE for that, cant be beat, im in love.

but casual search box typing, i need this Ipazzport keyboard.
im tired of using win7's Virtual Keyboard...
aahhggg...

That is the normal pricing for this remote, so I think you are safe. Altho, I didn't buy it through Unisen, I spent around $30 also. The great thing about this remote is that you can turn the backlit function on or off to conserver more battery.

yeah both RF and BT RII MINI's were like that too..

overall, i just hope this RF model will prevail, looks better quality then RII MINI's...

and i want RF because it can wake htpc from sleep, and be used in BIOS.

i had some PayPAL credit thanks to Donations from members here so,
in the END, the keyboard will cost me $6 Tongue

if all goes well, i'll try to make a review!

now the waiting game....

Has anyone tried the microphone on the RF version with VoxCommando? It looks like a perfect fit!

just curious eskro...why did you have a terrible experience with Rii mini's?

i'm looking on amazon and need something that is on prime and Rii RF mini's are in the top as far as reviews go...i'm using openelec so i need RF since bluetooth is too much of a bitch to set up, plus there's no guarantee it'll work
