About ATV2 restarting by itself
#1
Hello guys

I have a cunundrum. I have a ATV2 and i have done everything that needs to be done.

1. Jailbroken
2. Atv Flash and all that.
3. Instaled nitoTV
4. Installed XBMC
And then it restarts when i am in the menu, or when to start a movie, in ATV2 menu i was watching the weather and it restarted.

Then i heard about this:

Install updatebegone via nitoTV or SSH into the ATV2 and type in:
apt-get install com.nito.updatebegone
reboot

The above has fixed the issue in many cases but if it doesn't make sure your packages are current. SSH into the ATV2 and type in:

apt-get update && apt-get upgrade
reboot

If the issue is still there, and you don't see any entries with apple.com in /etc/hosts, modify the file by using the following commands. [1] SSH into the ATV2 and type in:

echo "127.0.0.1 appldnld.apple.com" >> /etc/hosts
echo "127.0.0.1 mesu.apple.com" >> /etc/hosts
echo "127.0.0.1 appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net" >> /etc/hosts
echo "" >> /etc/hosts
reboot

The thing is i have done all this and still it restarts.
How do i know that when i type in everything that is is workingHuh

Please help

Hello
I installed everything a few days ago and i have Rc2.
One question, does it matter what skin i have?
And another thing. The neon skin in my ATV2 is broken but works well on my fathers AtV2.
I dont know what to do.

When all else fails, restore in itunes, re-jailbreak, and try from scratch.

I did it.
Anyway my question is how do i write in the text for instance:
Is it: echo 127.0.0.1 appldnld.apple.com >> /etc/hosts
Or is it echo "127.0.0.1 bla lbla
What stuff do i use is with " or without?
Is it with >> or without?
Does it matter?

Code:
echo 127.0.0.1 appldnld.apple.com >> /etc/hosts

Should be all one line in SSH, then hit return.

Ok thanks
I read somewhere that after i have written all three lines i should hit ctrl+x to save in ssh. Is this right?
Or should i just reboot?

I have jailbroken the ATV2 from the start and still it restarts when i am in xbmc. Either when i am in settings and doing something or when i am about to start a movie or a tv-show, when i am in the movielist etc.
First i thought that it was the Aeon and Backrow skins but yesterday it restarted when i hade the default skin (Confluence).
It is really annoying. I dont know what the problem is.
Is it the Eden RC2Huh??
