Installing the Realtek drivers just adds more Realtek audio devices to the list, but does not impact the HDMI device that connects to my receiver, which seems to be tied to the sole HDMI-out on my motherboard. That device still does not show HD audio as a supported format.
I have 4 devices:
High Definition Audio Device
Realtek High Definition Audio Device
Realtek Digital Output
Realtek HDMI Output
The HDMI seems to be tied to the first one, and the name of the device is DENON-AVAMP.

Finally got it working. Uninstalled the Intel graphics driver about 3 times and on the fourth try it listed them. I'm not going to ask questions and just be thankful. :p

I keep trying to install Damian's "AE-final" build linked in the OP, but I can never successfully launch XBMC. It just crashes before getting anywhere, and generating a crash-log.
How do I go about posting a crash-log to help diagnose my issues?

That's a pity - seems to be hit or miss for some users - mine has been rock solid since early May to the extent that I haven't touched the installation since.
This thread has to some degree become unsupported since the introduction of nightly builds (with the inclusion of AE). My suggestion would be to download attempt install and then look for support in the sticky on the windows forums - I think it was DDDamians intention to support that thread and let this one slide.
