@DDDamian

Didn't see this comment here yet, but as far as I can see from experience:

All builds from last weekend have problems with trick modes (fast forward, rewind).

As you as soon you press fast forward, then play again, playback freezes and after
a while XBMC hangs. Only killing the program helps.

Builds from July 6 (didn't try those in between) work ok.

However, though ok, I noticed that sometimes you see the video playing rapidly to
(my guess) sync up with the audio. This is not what you want. Isn't it possible to do
this in the background, so freezes the video until buffers have sync'ed up.

If this doesn't belong in this thread... sorry for that.

Not sure if this is related to the engine or card capabilities, but when playing a BDMV with DTS-HD / Master Audio or Dolby TrueHD, frame rate drops to 1-2. AAC channel in the same video play smooth.

Running Ion with latest nvidia drivers via HDMI.

Hi,
I dont believe that the ION chipset supports HD audio, I think 1 manufacture (ASRock maybe) did manufacture a HDMI 1.4a 3D version of the ION, but other than that, it won't bitstream HD audio and will therefore cause your machine to stutter and/or come o a crawl Sad

I own the ATI Revo and the ION Revo and only my ATI will bitstream HD audio .. The ION will only handle up to DTS 96/24 and then LPCM for everything above.

Hope that helps.

All - I'm struggling with stuttering video and delayed audio in the WASAPI output mode, but probably only with playback of DVDs.
PAL/NTSC DVDs are by nature software decoded in xbmc (because of the menus) and usually have DD or DTS audio. I'm getting heavy stutter unless I switch to double framerate (forcing deinterlacing) and in addition I have a sound delay of about 175 ms. Any thoughts?

I'm running xbmc on Win 7 64bit, AMD E-450 APU (ZBOX AD04), 4 GB of RAM. Everything HD or even hardware decoded SD (like mp4 divx etc.) seems to do fine. I'm using Catalyst 12.6 and have every video "enhancement" disabled. Also, on my workstation (Core i7 / nVidia GT240) this issue does not occur...

@Voyager-xbmc - Is this a new occurence of the problem discussed in the AE help thread ( http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...pid1139974 )? I thought you had resolved the issue by switching off "Pulldown Detection" in the Catalyst menu.

@fat-tony - yes it is. Strangely, I thought it was resolved, but it came back.
You'll see from my note that all video enhancements are turned off. It seems that you can resolve it briefly but after more testing all of a sudden video starts to stutter again.
Just wondering two things now: could it be the sound driver (currently on 2.70 Realtek) or perhaps that I have "sync playback to display" turned on?

Did you make sure that the display supports the mode you want it switching to? You could try setting it to 24FPS in Windows and see what happens.

of course. first of all this is not 24fps related, it's with 50fps (25) dvds, and secondly it only happens with WASAPI, not DirectSound.

My log is showing lots of lines like this:

Ok, I'm having a problem myself now. When I select WASAPI: My amp as audio output, it will lockup. Same device is set as passthrough. When I select DS: My amp, things are fine. Debug log is 1MB, where can I put that? Excerpt looks like this:
