Why does my paused file stop playing?
#1
Hello all,

I have hooked up a bunch of external drives to a computer dedicated for only watching movies and TV and listening to music. For some reason, if I pause a file and leave it, my TV's screen saver will come on, the file will no longer be open (I'll be back to the menu) and occasionally the sound will no longer work either.

Does anybody have any idea if there is a setting a setting in xmbc that I can set so this won't happen anymore? I don't think its a computer or TV setting as this never used to happen.

Thanks for you thoughts.

Settings->Appearance->ScreenSaver -> Enable Dim screensaver when playing video.

ATM you have some other screensaver (eg slideshow or whatever) which is causing the video to stop.

I'm afraid that is the setting I have it on. I tried reapplying that setting last night, but had the same result.

I recently replaced the computer, so now I'm thinking there must be some setting on this one that is different than the old one.
