Synergy with ubuntu, leaving full screen, missing cursor
#1
Hi

I've recently came across synergy (synergy-project.org), it looks like pretty good solution for a remote control.

Though is not perfect (at least for me). I got two issues while I'm using it.

1. Every time when I'm leaving (with my cursor) the XBMC screen, XBMC switches to windowed mode and it stays like this. If I want to fix it, I need to move my cursor back to XMBC screen and press "\".

2. When mouse cursor is located on the machine with XBMC, cursor is missing, I can only use keyboard to navigate.

The setup:
- Ubuntu 14.04 (gnome-shell) laptop with synergy server
- Ubuntu 14.04 (gnome-shell) Xbmc box with synergy client installed

are there any options (gui, compile, environment) to avoid that?

Replying to myself, on other future synergy users.

So ultimate solution for both problems was running xmbc with --standalone option. This option wasn't available from the repo nor ppa build. To see --standalone option I have to comile xmbc from github repo.

Anyone feeling able able to elaborate what --standalone means in details?

Thanks.
