can harmony remotes (or any ir remote) power on a HTPC from an off state? How are most people turning on their systems? Sorry for the noob question but I couldn't find an answer so far.

Hey Eskro...

Thanks for all the info by the way. I did in fact go with all your recommendations and all parts should arrive by late next week. Only thing was the power supply, says it is on back order (http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=30145&v...omoid=1055). I was a little timid to try to order similar power supply worrying if it wasn't the EXACT model and therefore not fit or have slightly different power outputs.

Any other suggestions of where to get same power supply from different vendor? or a different power supply that will do the same thing??

If it can keep the PSU cool with low noise, there is nothing wrong with 80mm fan!

Speaking of the Lian Li PC-Q08. Has anyone seen this one the Lian Li PC-Q25.

Just FYI if you are looking for the same style and approx size as the PC-Q08 but want more disk storage without comprising a decent graphics card.
It is a very clever design, only need to make sure the PSU depth is 140mm.
