HTPC consoldiation - Possible SUGO SG05 HDD Mod
#1
Hello amazing people,

First of all I am a huge fan of XBMC - fell in love with it after the first software mod I did on my original Xbox.

Please accept by offer of huge respect and thanks to the XBMC community; You guys are incredible.

Main focus for me is consolidation, I currently have a media server that is networked to a laptop running XBMC which in turn is connected to my TV but not by HDMI. With the amazing APU technology thats out I see an opportunity to covert this whole setup into an ITX build. Thus ridding me of the Laptop and the media server and giving me so much more. Nod

I am in NZ so the costs and the availability of certain parts limit the build I can have. In addition I need to fit this new setup into my entertainment unit and so I am restricted by the case size.

The SGO5 from SilverStone will suit, but I also have to fit 3 x HDDs inside the case and as it stands you can only have 1x2.5 and 1x3.5 drive.

Looking at this pic below there appears to be space to add 2 or 3 more drive bays below the first 3.5 drive bay.

Can someone please confirm if there is space and if so do you have any ideas how to achieve it?

i.e. has anyone tried fitting an after market HDD cage?

Thanks Castrol

Rather than block the fan by adding more drives, here is what a guy in Hamilton, New Zealand came up with.

Hey this looks great, thanks for this. Do you know if it is possible to fit a HDD (3.5) on the floor of the case just beside and under the fan (in front of the mobo).
