I need some help in figuring out what is the best way to back up my whole XBMC settings. I am going to re install the OS (windows) and would like to try to retain a my XBMC layout, setting etc... that I have spent hours perfecting. What is the best way to do this? Should I backup all my media in the same folder and then put that folder back in the same place after I re install?

Maybe going to try windows 8... any thoughts on that..? The media center is primary for XBMC

just back up your user data folder, it will be summit like this...

C:\Users\Matt\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\userdata

as for windows 8, ive used it and i dont think its ready to be used as a primary os yet, if your pc is used just for xbmc then stick with windows 7.
