XBMC Freeze
#1
Hi guys,

I'm new on this forum. I've been experiencing problems with my XBMC since I installed it from scratch. It simply doesn't want to start, it just loads the black screen saying XBMC Eden RC2 and then it freezes. I have to reboot my laptop in order to be able to use it. The specifications of my Laptops can be found her:

Please don't hesitate to ask if you want to know details. I can tell you that I've tried to install different versions, betas, RC's to make it work, but it doesn't help.

Please post a logfile, a debug-log would be helpful.

See http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Log_File for how to find the debug log.If you're using Windows open the debug log by pressing Windows-R and in the Run dialog type:

"%appdata%\xbmc\xbmc.log"

(including the quotes). Click OK and the log should open in Notepad. Copy and paste the log into http://pastebin.com/ and post the link it gives you here.

Hmm, it's crashing after:

Code:
NOTICE: Loading media sources from special://masterprofile/sources.xml

I've seen another report of this, but with no resolution. Can you press Windows-R and in the Run dialog type:

Code:
%APPDATA%

and click OK, and that should open an Explorer window. Look in this window to see if you can find a folder called "XBMC". If the folder is there, delete it, then try starting XBMC.

Other people have reported the problem, though this turned out to be related to a problem with the older NVIDIA video cards and not Intel GPUs like yours. However I would look at the video drivers in case it's a similar problem.
