Lightbulb  ATV2 VPN to home network Post: #1
Hello,

If I'm going away travelling or on vacation, would it be possible to take my ATV2, hook it up to hotel/friends wifi, VPN to my home network and access my shares (as if my ATV2 was at home)?

Obviously internet speeds will come in to play but is the actual concept feasible?

I can currently connect my iPad to my home network (fritzbox) over VPN from anywhere but I don't have xbmc installed to test it out Sad

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Dan

I use FTP for a house we have about 200 miles away. As you stated, bandwidth will be an issue but I'm able to stream my movies and TV shows without any issues. The internet connection where all of my data is stored is 30M/5M.
