Amlogic has implemented Hardware Codec with ffmpeg called AMFFmpeg available in buildroot from link below
http://openlinux.amlogic.com/wiki/index....726M_Howto

I think it is a good news for xbmc community (but I am not to competent in xbmc developing, so maybe I'm wrong and this is not too useful :S)

Opinion?

As I saw A10 developing is stucked at that moment... maybe amlogic devices are are closer and better choices...
BTW, developers can it be useful for A10?

Allwinner who make the A10 have been in touch with the development team to see about helping support XBMC porting for Android products.
This may well be useful for Linux based platforms though.

AMFFmpeg just handles demux and is not involved with any aspects of hardware decode and the real heavy lifting is done by amplayer using amffmpeg with amadec and amdecode which talk to kernel drivers.
