How can we use "selectbutton" control?

How can we use "selectbutton"?

The wiki is not clear, I copied & pasted that code & a button appeared but was not very meaningful in behavior .

As it says, it's only used for changing view modes.

I have searched for the text "selectbutton" in all the skin files & I found it only in the "defaults.xml"
So that could not be the case.

Most skins probably just a normal button to cycle through the view modes.
